Michael Nelson is a qualified barrister and solicitor (not practising) and a chartered quantity surveyor with over 30 years experience in the construction industry. He is a specialist in construction contracts with wide ranging experience that includes project set‐up, contracting strategy, project structuring, tendering, procurement, contract drafting and negotiation, risk reviews, commercial management, contract administration, project reviews, dispute resolution, acting as adjudicator and representing parties in dispute resolution forums.

Michael is skilled at liaising with multidisciplinary teams of construction professionals, interfacing with in-house and external legal teams and advising at an executive level on major international projects.
Michael’s recent experience is on global mega-projects and includes hospitals, uranium processing plants, coal-fired power plants, nuclear power plants, international airports, LNG plants, desalination plants, LNG power plants, jet fuel facilities and major infrastructure works. Michael has international experience in the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Australia and Japan.
Prior to entering into consultancy, Michael worked for a number of construction contractors and was involved in the commercial management and contract administration of major construction projects.
